In conjunction with the International Labour Organization and the Samoa National Tripartite Forum, Samoa IBC drafted the Samoa Decent Work Country Programme 2024-2028. The DWCP is a time-bound cooperation framework between the ILO and SNTF to achieve the common goal of decent work for all. It is the key too to align and mobilize technical and financial resources to achieve decent work results.

Review of the Family Safety Act 2013
The increase of reported cases of violence occurring within families in Samoa has become a serious for the Government and its people. As part of the Samoa Spotlight Initiative, IBC consultants worked with the United Nations Development Programme and the Samoa Ministry of Justice, Courts and Administration on a thorough review of the Family Safety Act 2013 and related legislation in order to strengthen existing legal and policy frameworks around this delicate issue.

Partnering with TV5, Samoa IBC created an interactive educational program to raise awareness on domestic violence by utilizing the wildly popular Virtual Trivia platform. With six games over three weeks, people all across the country, and overseas enhanced their understanding of the multifaceted issues of DV and IPV through engaging trivia content, with the chance to win prizes for themselves and their current or former College. Samoa IBC and TV5 worked with the Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization for this program under the Samoa Spotlight Initiative.

Samoa IBC conducted a review of Samoa’s National Reporting and Notification Systems for Occupational Accidents and Illnesses. The review identified the policy and legislative framework that creates obligations for employers to report on workplace accidents and illnesses. Samoa IBC identified the current practices and procedures across relevant agencies, with policy and legislative recommendations to further improve the aforementioned system in Samoa. The review was conducted on behalf of the Ministry of Commerce Industry and Labour and funded by the International Labour Organization of the United Nations (ILO).

In support of the ICT in Education in Samoa project, Samoa IBC conducted a needs assessment survey to gauge the level of ICT knowledge, utilization, and capacity building needs of students and teachers in rural schools throughout the country, including the status of infrastructure and connectivity in schools. The survey incorporated the perspectives of private ICT businesses and organizations for people and students with disabilities. The project aims to increase digital literacy for education to support blended teaching and learning and to enhance steps to redress the digital-divide in education plans and strategies. In support of the Samoa Knowledge Society Initiative project, Samoa IBC carried out nationwide Media and Information Literacy and Media Competency assessments in support of this multi-million dollar project promoting knowledge-based sustainable development in Samoa.

Brown Girl Woke - Policy Development
Working together with the International Women's Development Agency, Samoa IBC drew upon its legal and financial management expertise to assist Brown Girl Woke with revamping their constitution and creating policy documents pertaining to Child Protection, Preventing Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment, and Fraud and Corruption Prevention, as well as development and training on a suitable accounting system for BGW's purposes. This NGO, focused on empowering young girls in primary schools in rural areas of Samoa, is now much better positioned to receive and account for donor funds. |
USO Agrifoods
Samoa IBC has been working diligently with our sister company, USO Agrifoods, and we are very pleased to have brought to fruition two projects that will focus mainly on improved taro cultivation practices for USO, one of the leading frozen taro exporters in Samoa. The first is a recognized partnership with the Pacific Horticultural and Agricultural Market Access Program (PHAMA Plus) which aims to improve taro supply by implementing improved production practices as well as creating a more inclusive, Family Farm, environment. The second is a grant from the Pacific Development and Conservation Trust in NZ to implement a mixed sheep/taro demonstration plot in order to trial a natural solution to weed management and fertilization for taro plantations. This project also involves replanting thousands of native trees in the inland areas of Sapunaoa village. Since USO's inception, Samoa IBC has been instrumental in developing an efficient and systematic approach to growing, gathering, processing and exporting frozen taro.

This family run charity focuses on combatting domestic violence and assisting early childhood education in Samoa. IBC was instrumental in organizing Sinaupualofa's flagship event, a "Day in the Sun", of fun activities for pre-schools from around Samoa, in both Upolu and Savaii. More than 2000 persons were fed and entertained for free on this day. IBC organized sponsorship arranged logistics to make this event a success.

Peace Garden at Saleapaga Sands Motel
This Peace Garden commemorates the tragic passing of members of the Saleapaga community during the 2009 Tsunami. Samoa IBC was instrumental in organizing the logistics for the establishment of the garden, obtaining sponsors for certain aspects of the garden, and also for organizing the commemoration ceremony on Tsunami remembrance day.
